SHORTAGES AND COST INCREASE OF RAW MATERIALS

Having started quietly in the middle of last year, the escalation in raw material prices caused by strong Asian demand and poor availability, due in part to the shutdown of polymerisation plants in Texas following freak weather events, does not seem to be slowing down.

Despite the difficulties in finding resources and planning the levels of compound reorders, LAV.EL. Gomma has decided not to make any changes to the price lists, and to absorb these appreciable differences until the end of the summer, doing everything possible to meet the demands of our customers and minimise possible delays due to circumstances beyond our control.

In the hope that market demand will stabilise in the near future, it was decided to postpone further evaluations of possible increases until after the summer holiday closure, in the hope of returning to normal as soon as possible.
